Various utilities by and for the open font community.

If you use Ubuntu (or Debian) type: sudo apt-get install open-font-design-toolkit
It's a meta-package that will install (almost) all the revelant tools to do open font design.

Other useful tools include: Fontaine, Font::TTF, Fonttools TTX, FontMatrix, FontManager, Gucharmap, Freetype ttfautohint, Graphite, sfntly, ots, fontview, font-helpers
